Alumni Impact #4: Stand-out Performances at Every Level
MLB SPRING TRAINING
Diamondback outfielder AJ Pollock (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, Team One East, Pre-Season All-American, Team One All Star-Team) is one of the Cactus League’s leading hitters so far this spring. He is hitting .425 with 4 doubles, 3 triples, a home run and 7 runs batted in.

Justin Maxwell is off to a great start this spring as he tries to earn time in a crowded Kansas City outfield. He has 3 doubles, a triple, and one home run and is hitting .419.
The Prince Fielder trade cleared the way for Nick Castellanos (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, Baseball Factory World Series, Under Armour All-America Game) to enter this season as the Tigers’ starting 3B. He certainly looks ready as he is hitting .400 this spring with 7 2B, 2 HR and 10 RBI.
COLLEGE
Vince Conde (Team One South, Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament) was named the Player of the Week in the SEC. The Vanderbilt shortstop had two 3-hit games against conference rival LSU and hit .643 for the week.
Garrett Donohoe (Ryan Lemmon Sophomore Showcase), infielder for East Central University, earned Great American Conference Player of the Week honors after hitting .636 with 2 doubles, a triple, a home run and 6 runs driven in.
A .533 average for the week along with 3 2B, 3 HR and 11 RBI earned Nebraska Kearney’s first baseman and catcher Danny Droll (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, Baseball Factory Premium Video Program) the honor of Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Player of the Week.
Ty France (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program), San Diego State’s third baseman, had a big week with a home run and 6 runs batted in to go with a .500 average. The sophomore from West Covina, CA was named the Mountain West Player of the Week.
LHP Jace Fry (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout) is putting together a tremendous year for the Oregon State Beavers. His 3-hit shutout of Utah last week leaves him with a 4-0 record and a 1.56 ERA.
Michael Katz (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program) had a huge week earning CAA Player of the Week honors and being named National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball. The first baseman and outfielder for William and Mary hit .435 with 4 HR and 17 RBI this week.
The big 6’8” lefty Adam McCreery (Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, Team One West) was named the Pac West Pitcher of the Week after throwing 8.1 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 11 for Azusa Pacific.
Ryan Moseley (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, Baseball Factory Premium Video Program, Christmas Camp and Tournament, Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament) has had an outstanding start to his career at Texas Tech. The freshman RHP has made eight appearances on the mound with 2 saves, a 0.56 ERA and 16 Ks in 16 IP.
Helping to lead the Sooners to a 4-0 week earned Oklahoma’s third baseman Sheldon Neuse (Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tryout, 2012 Player of the Week) Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors. The freshman hit .529 with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles and 2 triples.
Catcher John Clay Reeves (Team One South) was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week after helping to lead the Rice Owls to a 5-0 record versus ranked opponents. He hit an impressive .680 over the five games with 3 doubles, 5 runs scored and 6 driven in.

Brady Aiken (Under Armour All-America Game) continues to shine early in the season. In his last start he went 4.2 innings without allowing a hit. He struck out 12 and flashed mid 90s velocity once again. Another left-handed pitcher solidifying himself as a first round talent is Foster Griffin (Under Armour All-America Game). Griffin threw 5 innings in his last start without allowing an earned run and also striking out 12. Florida RHP Andrew Karp (Team One Futures Series East) added a complete game shutout. He struck out 10 while leading West Orange HS to 1-0 victory.
The top 2-way player in the country is off to a hot start. Alex Verdugo (Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament, Under Armour All-America Game) continues to shine both on the mound and at the plate. He is hitting .654 with 8 doubles, 12 runs batted in and 6 stolen bases through his first nine games. He also is yet to allow an earned run in 11 innings on the mound while striking out 16.
